About WSMT Insurance
Our History
WSMT Insurance was founded in 1969 under the original name of Ward & Bosely Insurance. Since then, with the additions of N. Richard Scarborough, Dick Molinaro, and Kevin Thrailkill, the company name was changed to WSMT, Inc.
In 2014, BB&K of Maryland, Inc. purchased WSMT, and brought their experience and resources to this Harford County Maryland mainstay. Today, the agency continues to provide the personal, face-to-face approach of dealing with people that has marked its beginnings. WSMT is located in Bel Air, Maryland. In 2017, BB&K of Maryland, Inc. proudly welcomed the clients of the Dean Insurance Agency, Inc. Our combined agency force now represents over 6,000 clients in the tri-state area.

Marty is the President and CEO of WSMT Insurance. He attended Goldey-Beacom college in 1984. He began his insurance career in 1984 at his father’s agency as an advisor. In 2003 he purchased the agency from his father. Recently he sold his first agency and currently oversees all aspects of WSMT Insurance as well as maintains Carrier Relationships and acts as Sales Manager.
He has served on several Agency Councils, including Main Street America, Selective, Ohio Casualty and Harford Mutual. He also served as a Board member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Delaware from 2003-2007. Marty is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Cancer Support Community of Delaware. In his spare time, Marty enjoys golfing, fishing and traveling.

Denise began her career in the insurance industry in 1987. During her career she has held positions on both the Agency and Company side. In 2003 becoming an agency principal. She is currently the Vice President of WSMT Insurance and is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Agency.
She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Towson University in Towson, Maryland in 1987. She went on to receive the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Designation in 2002. In 2011 earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Designation. She enjoys playing golf and spending time with her family.

Jimmy graduated from Pfeiffer University in 2010 where he played NCAA Division II lacrosse, and also holds an MBA from the University of Baltimore. Before starting at WSMT, he spent 5 years at IT staffing firm TEKsystems as a Market Research Analyst. Jimmy loves working in an industry where he can be of service to the community he has been rooted in for over 20 years. Jimmy is an avid cyclist and golfer, and enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter.

Patty joined the insurance industry in 1986, and has spent her entire career in the agency side of Commercial Lines. She joined WSMT Insurance in 2002 and currently serves as Commercial Lines Account Manager. Patty has completed the requirements for the Associate in General Insurance designation (AINS), Certified Insurance Service Representative designation (CISR), and Certified Insurance Counselor designation (CIC). In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, football and spending time with friends.

Vicki Estep has been in the insurance industry since 1995. Her career began as a receptionist and quickly moved to customer service and then to personal lines advisor. Vicki and her husband Russell are in Ministry and lend helping hands to several churches in Maryland and in Pennsylvania. In her spare time she loves to cook, read, and spend time with loved ones.

Kathy joined WSMT in 2009 in the Accounting Department. In 2014, her role transitioned to a Personal Lines Account Manager. Kathy earned a Bachelor of Arts from Randolph-Macon College in Business/Economics. Prior to joining the insurance field, she had over 10 years of experience in the 401(k) field. She enjoys spending time with her family, yoga, exercising, volunteering and relaxing at the beach.

Rebecca began her career in the insurance industry in 1999. She joined WSMT Insurance as a Commercial Lines Agent in 2012 and currently serves as the Agency’s Commercial Insurance Quality Control. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from York College of Pennsylvania in 1997. She is licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health and holds her ACSR and CRIS designations. She enjoys reading and watching movies. She currently resides in Fawn Grove, PA.

Michelle earned an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Computer Information Systems in 2005. After careers in the animal and medical fields, she joined WSMT Insurance in 2013 as the Administrative Assistant. In October of 2015, she obtained her Property & Casualty License and moved into the Commercial Lines Department as an Account Technician. Michelle completed the academic requirements of the Certified Insurance Service Representative designation (CISR) in 2019. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, gaming, traveling and spending time with her loved ones.

Marley graduated in 2018 with her bachelor’s degree in Business Finance and in 2019 obtained her master’s degree in Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University, where she also played Division I lacrosse. She has been with the WSMT family since 2016 as an intern while pursuing her degrees and started her career in 2019 as a Commercial Lines Account Technician and is currently a Commercial Lines Account Manager. Marley resides in Bel Air, Maryland and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
